Plateau Into a Platform For Revival

In 2014, the Word of Life Church in Fier, Albania, reached a point that every leader dreads: a total plateau. Despite their best efforts, the congregation had become unmotivated to evangelize, and the spiritual momentum had completely stalled. Pastor Valter Xhelilaj and his team found themselves praying for a breakthrough—not just a temporary spark, but a practical, inclusive way to mobilize the entire church to reach the lost. They needed a tool that was easy to apply but powerful enough to break through the local culture’s indifference. When they discovered the LiFe Toolbox, it felt like a direct answer to those prayers.

The church decided to take a bold step by integrating the LiFe topics directly into their Sunday morning services. While they admit their first attempt wasn't perfect, they committed to the process, refining their approach with each passing week. This wasn't just a guest event; it became the very culture of the church. By shifting the focus of their main gatherings toward these practical Gospel conversations, they saw a wave of new visitors, many of whom gave their hearts to Jesus. The church was no longer a stagnant organization; it had become a vibrant mission center where every member felt equipped to play a part in the harvest.

The true power of this transformation was put to the test when a fellow pastor in the nearby town of Roskovec reached his breaking point. Faced with a drastic decrease in attendance and a spirit of deep discouragement, he was ready to resign. Pastor Valter stepped in with a challenge: "Try the LiFe materials first. If it doesn't help, then you can resign." With Word of Life’s support, the discouraged pastor held his first LiFe event. The results were nothing short of a miracle. Ninety visitors attended, eighty people gave their lives to Christ, and sixty were baptized that same year. The tool didn't just save the lost; it saved a church from closing and a pastor from walking away from his calling.

Today, this movement is spreading throughout Albania as more churches adopt the LiFe Toolbox to mobilize their people. What began as a desperate search for momentum in Fier has grown into a nationwide strategy for growth and salvation. For Pastor Valter and many others, the lesson is clear: even when a church feels stuck or a leader feels defeated, the right tools in the hands of a willing congregation can turn a plateau into a platform for revival.
